What a top weekend - a lovely walk on Bawdsey Beach collecting shells and coal yesterday and today with a great forecast today, wall to wall sunshine and wind picking up, so I was able to get out windsurfing - the first time since Jan 10th !!! probably my longest ever spell off the water :( After crashing into a post in my lovely van last weekend I had to try and get my windsurfing kit into a small Citroen courtesy and I managed to squeeze a board, three sails, two masts and a boom in - just !!! With the wind mainly SW I didn't fancy The Dip so headed the The Manor End and parked at the end of the prom - just a short walk to the sea :) This is a nice area to sail from loads of beach to launch, free parking and the whole of Felixstowe bay to sail in - right out to the Wadgate Post - approx a mile and half out ! Arriving at ten and with 20 mph on the gauge I went for my Lightning 6.5 - the first time I have used it and it was perfect for 90% of the time :) I plan was to ease myself in slowly after the long lay off by going for a hour but not having my watch to time it, I decided to sail to Wadgate post ten times !!! which seemed about right. The sea was too lumpy to go really fast and you did sail out of the wind somethings out by the post !!! It was great fun and fantastic to be back out on the water !!! especially when I was joined by the Hurrell boys - Lee and Craig, both out with 6.5 and Al who has a lovely caravan right on the beach, he was out with 5.7. After my long non-stop spell I can ashore, took a few pics and had a coffee with Al - cheers :) then Mag turned up on her bike bringing lunch which we ate on the beach :) I got cold over the lunch break as the water is still a bit on the chilly side but did have a couple more runs but the tide had turned and the sea became a real mess so we all decided to call it a day - still a top day on the water :)
